The biggest longest running thread in KDGA history! Sweet!

Funny that we are Bitching about the Old Guys as we make history.

League isn't the place for the kids. All the extra things that go on at league should not be seen by 7th and 8th graders.

I also don't care if the kids play. Trust me they do get plenty of time playing disc golf with adults. When I go play Cherry, I usually have a group of 4-6 tagging along and playing.

yup.
league is x rated for sure. otherwise it would't be as much fun.
i love kids (even have a couple myself), but i wouldn't want a youngster of mine at wed nite league.
there are plenty of opportunities for the kiddies to play other times.

(if i ever have to play with zack taylor again, i'm going to pinch his head off like a quail)

When the kids asked me about it, I responded with "We normally don't have kids playing". I made them ask Rich when they came to Cherry and he was for it there. Cliff has had Alex there before, I know I am going to have my kids there if they want to come. Difference we are their parents and are there with them.

It sounds like a terrible problem to have doesn't it "several newer players". I have heard all this before, from myself and others. No one starts out playing at the pro caliber. I am not trying to make light of the situation, but we all had to take our lumps. I have seen several of your games get better by leaps and bounds and your on the right track. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!

Play to play

OK

I have been given the OK to play league if I stay in Winfield. I know there has been some talk of playing at Cherry. Kids are welcome, new people are welcome, old people are welcome.

I have an idea to try out instead of doing all payout in cash.

Check it out:

$3 entry fee (1 free mulligan if you bring exact change)
We will play A/B doubles the best we can. I will have cards to draw. There will be no strokes given and you will get who you get.

$1 will go towards the payout. Payout will be in $6 increments. For example first will get up to $6, second will be up to $6, we will keep going this way until we run out of $$$. The most $$$ you will ever win is your entry fee back.

$1 will go towards CTP prizes. These will need to be done in $10 increments. If we have less then 10 people we will only do 1 CTP for a disc. If we have more then 10 we will do what we can up to $10. If you want the CTP you will have to pay the diff or donate the money to somebody else or to the club. I will have a box of discs and the $$ CTP must be used that nite or lost.

$1 would go to an ACE fund if this is something we wanted to do. For tomorrow we will just add it to another CTP hole.

The course is the new B2B (Basket to Basket) that I looked at today. I think most people will enjoy it, it gives us a new mix of holes to play. The first 9 holes will be played following the normal hole numbers. The second nine will be played in reverse order from hole to hole. We will tee from the same place both direction.

I wasn't there last week, so I don't know what all went down. The idea behind this is not to take away from the normal Wednesday nite league. The idea is to give the people who cannot go to Tick Ranch a chance to play. Those of you who don't go to Tick Ranch come to Cherry.

We had 10 adults and 6 kids out there tonite. We broke up into 2 divisions and played best shot doubles on the B2B course.

Smitty (CTP Z Buzzz) & Bullfrog -15 $6
Shan and Dal (CTP Champ T-Bird) -13 $4
2K and Jerry -11
Stun and Banger ????
Chris Tyler and T-Bone -2

On the kids side one of the Hizar boys made out like a bandit. He and his partner won and got their money back plus he won both CTP's (Z Pred and Wizard)

Don't know where league is next week. If it is out of town, we can do this again if you guys want.

08/26/09 League is at Cherry street.

We are going to have burgers and dogs before league. I bought to many for my daughters birthday party. I will bring the meat and buns. Everyone else will need to bring beverages, chips, plates, and eating utensils (if needed).

Meet at the pavilion by the old folks home at 5:30.

C-ya Wednesday :D

13 was the next hot with 2 teams.

What I think is the best is that 3 of the 4 kids that played cashed. It was great to hear Harv and Bo Bo go off about how good those little turds played.

After every comment all I could say was, "I know".
