Organizational meeting
Bangers notes from the meeting.
Notes from WVDGA organizational meeting on 1/12/08
Mini’s
You can no longer pay for the ace fund out of the money that you have riding. You have to pay cash for the ace fund and any mulligans at $1 each. Total of $3 if you want 2 mullies.
If the mini ace fund reaches $400, then the payout will be maxed out at $200 per event. One ace or a dozen, they all split $200 max.
League results, tournament results and where league will be held the next week need to be emailed into the paper. Whether or not they publish them is up to them, not us. The more media coverage we can get, the better.
KDGA Tournaments
We would like to have multiple in Winfield/Wellington
You can use up to $9 of money riding from minis to pay for KDGA tourney entry in Winfield/Wellington.
If we are having a KDGA event instead of a mini during a given month and you have played in at least 6 mini’s, the mini ace fund is up for grabs at a KDGA event in Winfield. Otherwise, it is just the tourney ace fund.
Obviously, you must have played in at least 6 mini’s to qualify for half of the mini ace fund.
March 15th Cherry St/Grove KDGA event reg tee’s at Cherry, then stones, then one round at the grove. Or vice versa.
March 16th Wellington KDGA event
Crop Circle Classic, first weekend in October @ Daniels, KDGA event.
Still would like to have an event @ Mulvane.
10% of any sponsorships brought in for Winfield/Wellington tourneys will be taken off of your entry fee.
Any added cash will be split between the divisions that are playing for cash. Any prizes will be used for CTP’s, run for the roses ect or split up between am divisions.
Things to do….
Paint stones @ Cherry St.
Need custom hot stamp for Club/Tourney discs. We all liked the old design w/tree and basket underground. It needs to be updated.
We need Bullfrog to set up meetings between the club and city to get our foot in the door.
We’d like Bulletin boards @ Cherry and the Grove. The one at the Grove needs to be removeable for Do Grass, Country Roundup ect…
We need some sort of tee’s at Cherry. What is acceptable to the City? How can we help at well as the KDGA course improvement fund ect.. What are the plans for planting new trees in Cherry St.? How can we help again.
Can we bury landscape timbers to mark the tee’s at the Grove? Can we make tee signs that are removeable? How do we get it mowed more?
Sue Birney’s Husband is on the Rec Commission. We need to get with these people!!!
Shan to talk to Harv about having a N of 9th workday next Sat to get pin placements in the ground.
Southwestern. Can we mow once in the fall and play all winter? Yes we can. Lets get it figured out.
We need to BUY 9 baskets and probably put them in Cherry St. It is our most visible course within the community and will attract new players. We need to get more involved with the community. Ice Bowl/Toys for Tots, something.
We, as a whole, need to pick up more trash especially in the grove. (This means you Bangrrr)

Seriously ,if I can help let me know.I have the stuff (anchors ) for alternate placements .This offer will go away if another worthy course steps up .I`ll wait a week to hear from you.

Yes they are here, and we would be very happy to have anchors for the alternate baskets, but we havn't asked the parks dept if it's okay that we put in alternate pin locations.
Last time somebody did this in the park on their own (and they shall remain nameless) and it may have upset the parks people.

Here is a copy of the e-mail I sent Jeramy:
Jeramy,
Sorry it took so long to get this to you. This is our current logo.
We really like the Big Walnut tree and roots basket design, and would like to incorporate this into our new logo. This logo won't be just for winfield though, it will be for all the golfers in the Walnut Valley Disc Golf Association.
As you may know, the Walnut Valley is famous for our annual Walnut Valley Festival held here every September, (most locals know the festival simply as bluegrass). Anyway, we'd like to somehow pay hommage to this with maybe a slogan of "There's more than just pickin' in the Valley" or something like that. Maybe have a man playing guitar under a tree, feel free to creatively roam with this idea and the slogan.
Things to make sure to include would be the tree and roots and Walnut Valley Disc Golf Association. No year is needed, this would be a long-term logo.
Smitty thought it might be cool hide WVDGA somewhere in some tree branches or roots. That is another thing you may or may not want to mess around with.
Alright, well thanks a bunch, and feel free to mail me with any questions, thanks again!
