KIDZ in the Valley
Re: KIDZ in the Valley
High School should be the cutoff.
If Jerry cannot do it on Mondays, lets go for Thursdays.
There we go.
It is set. 4:30 next Thursday will be the first day.
I say play handicap singles. I think they will get better and have more fun if they do that.

Sounds good to me. I think Jake and I both should be able to make it. Make sure they all know it free and for fun.
Laying up.......That's for chickens!

Re: KIDZ in the Valley
He is talking about the double negative you used. He is a grammar teacher in his extra time.
Played another round with the kidz again! They are getting pretty darn good.
Hooper was the man that impressed me this time. He watched a bunch of Nate Doss videos and we are all in trouble. I watched him park hole one with a nice little swooping hyzer.
The other kid that impressed me was Steven. Dude played 6 rounds of golf today. Finger was hurting from flicking, feet were hurting from walking, but just kept on playing.
These kids are fun to watch.
One thing we need to remember about this Kidz League. If there is a kid there that we don't want, we probably don't have to include him. There was a kid out there today lighting paper on fire and stealing other kidz discs. Don't be afraid to tell him to get lost and don't come back.

Jake-
You are the man for this Thursday.
I plan on showing up to watch, but have to go home and get the Lil Smittys first.

Oh and also are we going off height or age, cause if it's height I don't think that's fair cause Dal would whoop up on them.
Re: KIDZ in the Valley
I will also try to get you some scorecards. They don't know how to keep score. 1 person keep all the scores for so many holes then trade.
That can be lesson #1.
Lesson #2 is no extra shots, other then the first hole.
We could give the option to buy into a prize fund. Could be $1 to win a CTP prize of some kind. The more that are in, the better the prize. Maybe they buy into the winning prize fund.
If they are just playing for fun, there is no need to do handicaps. It would just be an extra thing to worry about.
I plan on contacting the Rec. center and letting them know we are doing this. They could put something in their catalog.

Re: KIDZ in the Valley
I think I'm going to go ahead and keep track of scores just for the heck of it and in the case that they do want to start paying in( which I'll leave up to the kids). The rec deal would be awesome. You wouldn't happen to have an extra PDGA rule book though, I'd like to have one for reference so that I can answers any questions they might have correctly.

Re: KIDZ in the Valley
Another round with the kidz today.
We are going to install a putting game around hole 7 basket. The kidz and I decided it was the one that is in the shade most of the time.
It will have several places to putt from, each one will be worth more points. They will also be measured out so you can practice putt from each of them.
Thinking of a clock with the basket being the center.
spot 1 - 20 footer at 3
spot 2 - 20 footer at noon
spot 3 - 20 footer at 9
spot 4 - 20 footer at 6
The next 4 spots will be from 25 foot and will split the difference of the first 4.
The next 3 spots will be trouble putts, behind the tree on the corner, tree by the dog run, light pole.
There may be a couple of other things out there.
We plan on hanging the rules to the games on the fence behind the baskets.
