Well I installed my practice basket in my back yard today to try and see how much concrete we'd need. I used 2 80# bags for one hole, which is probably quite a bit, but I think it will look nice. I think it was only $4/bag and each bag takes a gallon of water, so I guess thats 20 gallons of water, and 20 bags of concrete. That should hopefully leave us some extra.

I think doing the sprinkler control valve box might be more trouble than it is worth to install. It would either look nice, or really crappy if we couldn't get it right. Plus, I think water would get in that hole and wouldn't drain very well. I say just let the sleeve locking mechanism just stick about 1.5"-2" above ground and call it good.
I used about a 6" tall and 18" round concrete tube to make base nice and round. They only have 12" down at the lumber yard, maybe we could get some larger ones at lowe's.
Let me know what you guys think.

If we let the sleeve stick out of the ground, when we move them we are going to have do something like Emporia does.
We will need to have a pipe that goes in the ground to protect the sleeve. If not, the mowing crew will hit them all the time and mess up the mower and the sleeve.
We do need to get some bigger cardboard forms, I also like the idea of belling out the hole below. The other thing would be drive some rebar (3 foot long) into the ground first, that would be pretty cheap also.

Ok, so you guys probably already had this in mind, but I finally thought that we could put all the baskets to the alternate pin positions, so we could keep the old course up while we put in new baskets.
This would make it much more efficient on installation day, and since I have no job, I can start digging out the holes and preparing them so they are all ready to just be poured on Saturday!
The weather forecast is still in the 60's with no rain, so this should be the weekend... I am gonna go check on dampness down there today.
