I would bet pretty soon. I don't see Harv doing all this work, and not adding baskets.

We talked a little on Wednesday about slapping some hoops in the ground on Saturday afternoon.

From what I have been told, SW is now history.

This is bad news. It is/was a one of kind course. I say it is/was the best 9 hole course in the state. It had ever shot in the book, and was only going to get better as the trees got bigger.

This is a bad day for Winfield Disc Golf.

I think it would be a good idea if anyone has connections to SW to write a letter to whom ever it concerns, and let them know how beautiful and important this course is to us. Heck get the name of the guy we need to address and well get the whole KDGA to send this guy some fan mail.

I will back WVDGA 100% I would hate to see this go, especially after Harvey has gotten it looking the way it does, that's a lot of hard work.
And that goes for all the WVDGA that has put there sweat and blood into that course. Let's do what we can.

My mom works up @ the college, but she said she never really talks to the president all that much. We need to get a petition or something going. Or set up a meeting and a bunch of us go talk to the guy. We need some more opinions

We need to talk to Harv, and find out who we need to talk to. Then we can send him e-mails, and tell him how many people visit the course.

Yeah, we need to get it done. I know he said he's gonna pull the baskets and make the course on the north side of Ninth St.

Let's not let this one drift away from us. Or any other for that matter.

This looks pretty cool....click----->here

but with no connections at SW and being only nine holes it isn't really an option.

There isn't room at Cowley College for a course is there?

Unfortunately, no. Every time they get any open space, they build a new dorm. There isn't a park in Ark City with enough room to put a course in. I saw a park that could have a cool 6 hole layout and the next time I drove by to look a little deeper, the park was FULL of little kids. Big NO. The proposed land they wanted a course put in is in the flood plain and underwater several times a year.
Throw some D's on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was talking to one of the maintainance crew at SC and he said that if we were to get the course cleaned up and going again that there is the chance that the school might starting maintaining it again. They just need to see that it is a worth while investment for them. Basically it is only worth it to them if SC students are using it. Right now they mow it once a year, so we would need to do some tree trimming and mow it to get it going again. We would have to find a way to mow it with our own mower because using the school's equipment is out. I think we should set up a work day towards the end of the summer, so that when school starts up again it will be ready for all the SC students. Or sooner if people want to be able to use it this summer. We also need to get students out there. I was thinking we should propose that the school teaches disc golf in it's physical educational program. Smitty since you teach it at school you could even teach it. They already teach golf, bowling, swimming and a few others. That would definatly guaranty that the course would be maintained.

That course was pretty killer. Some real tough holes and some shorter, but tricky holes.

JOL-

Would they maintain it once it was up and running? I know that we could get it mowed and cleaned up in one weekend. Only problem may be baskets. We do have an extra 9 at Cherry, that could easily be put out there.

As far as teaching a class, I would have no problem doing it. We could also run an intramural tourney for them.

I know that the High School and Middle School both would use the course as part of their PE classes.

Are you sure you want to move? New course at Horizon now you may get SW back in the ground. I vote you just stay here.
