Tourneys in Winfield

Food Drive: We need to get one on the schedule and mapped out at Island Park. I think we may do fewer holes this year, or at least fewer in the woods. It was kind of a pain in the arse to round up and put out all the baskets last year. If anyone wants to help plan and move baskets that would be great.
I moved the date of the Cherry Street event.
1) Iqbal is going to be running his tourney on the 13th of March and I didn't want to force people to pick.
2) Kan-U-WyCo needed our date on the 14th, so I gave it up.
We also need to find a weekend for a tourney at the Grove. This needs to be done before the grass has a chance to grow, because it is impossible to schedule around the mowing. I have also thought about doing this around Turkey Day. That would put us out of the KDGA schedule. We could always do both.
Mulvane is usually ran by us also. What are some weekends that work for you all. I would like to do a skins format that Scott Reeks ran several years ago in Stockton.
Post some ideas.

I have done a lot of work down in the trails. The paths are really wide. Wide enough I can drive my work truck through it, except the south side of it. I'm sure we could aloow one truck to drive in there this year to put out baskets.

Please not November 20th! I wanna be able to make down for the Grove.

That would be pretty good.
The course would be mowed and all the baskets would be back in the ground. As the year moves along, lets look at the schedule and make it happen.
Halloween is on a Sunday this year. The Saturday before would be perfect. The OO is usually around that time and some people try to make that.

I should be around, I think that would be fine. Didn't we do it pretty early last year?

We are going to host our Food Drive on the 27th of Feb., if anyone wants to go out and help design the Island Park/Nature Trail course, let me know.
We will use some of the same holes as last year. We are also going to have some holes in Island Park itself, including a MONSTER HOLE (par 5). You can also look forward to a couple of H20 shots.

Still need to figure it out.
We are the last of the double point events. You get that honor by having good attendance. That needs to be kept in mind when finding the weekend. We want as many people in town as possible.

Dates for tournaments that WVDGA will be running (or helping with).
Cherry Street......June 26th
Wellington.........June 27th
Mulvane............August 7th
Pecan Grove.......October 30th
The Wellington date is merely a suggestion, we'll have to talk it over with Wellingtonians to what they want to do about running a tournament.
Pecan Grove is hopefully going to be a Halloween theme. I think we could have some pretty cool things to make this one special.

I contacted Bryan Tracy today. I wanted to see what their plan is for Wellington. He thinks "they may want to run it this year". The date will be the same regardless June 27th. I don't know if we will be hosting it or not.

I have been trying to come up with clever names for our tournaments.
For Cherry Street I like "The Cherry Picker"
For the halloween grove tournament I have been having some trouble coming up with ideas.
Halloween Jamboree
Pecan Grove Spookout
Halloween Spookout
You guys have any ideas?
