I should also mention the travelling trophy. The club bought a very nice trophy plaque last year that features the events past winners. The player with the lowest score in any division will get their name added to the trophy.

Would like to make this event a great time for the ACDGC members. If anyone can help, here's what we could use.

-To get things running at a reasonable time, I will need some help with registration.
-If we can again get a volunteer to bring a grill, I should be able to buy the food again this year.
-Since the picnic tables are gone, we'll need tables and chairs again this year.
-Any ideas welcome for 1st place trophies. If someone can think of something, it doesn't need to be a store bought trophy.

Alright so I'm still new to the sport and not real good, never played in a tournament or been a member of a league or anything, but would kinda like to start as I figure it's probably a good way to meet some people and learn some stuff. Anyway my concern is, although I know most of the DG community (especially the hardcores) embraces newer players, is there a spot for them in the ACDGC or is it something where I should worry more about getting better first, then joining?

Anyone and everyone is welcome to join, for certain. There are players of all different skill levels from handicap 30 to handicap -2. Our league is the best place to learn from more experienced discers. Every other week is doubles, where an am and a pro get paired up. The other weeks are handicapped singles. If for any reason, a player does not wish to play in the prize divisions for $5, there is a free recreational division. We still record handicap scores for players choosing the rec division. Usually the first time out, this is what I recommend. That way it doesn't cost you anything to set a handicap.

The membership drive will be a good time and a great chance to get a tournament experience without the tournament costs.

Shaping up to be a great event. The club is buying trophies and all the food. And Crispin is throwing a lot of prizes in. It will be fun!

One thing we still need help with. The person who was providing the tables and chairs cannot make it. Could anyone please help with this?

How big of tables are you looking for? I have 3 really small fold up tables. Two of them are 2X4 feet and the other is 3X3 feet. I can throw them in my Blazer if you need them. I also have 4 fold up chairs.

Jeff Laha is going to bring some tables and chairs. If it's not an inconvenience to bring a table or two, it could come in handy. Sounds like we're all set. Thanks.

Got the membership drive cards in. Instant classic. But you gotta check these trophy discs out. Very nice! We had one made for the Junior and Womens divisions as well, so make sure to let them know to come out!

I will not have a chance to update everyone's information into the system for the next few weeks. You have this post as proof of your membership, but also now your membership card.

Thanks to everyone again for supporting the club. It feels like one big family when we get together for events like this one. To all the new members: You are the ACDGC! Always feel free to share your insights and/or volunteer your resources to make things better for disc golf in Wichita.
