Bill said he and 2 others worked 11 hours putting those in. Plus 4 hours prep. He does deserve some thanks. Not to mention he is always in contact with Derby getting them to help out with maintenance on the course.

I'm not sure about the OB on this course. We have never played across the creek as OB. There are some areas of water that haven't been played OB. Like the inlet by the green on parking lot to park lot hole (now 12?). Also, is the sidewalk, or across the sidewalk OB? Need to figure this out.

disclizard wrote: That makes hole nine not only a hard figging hole to play but almost dumb because of how narrow the fair way gets and also because in that narrow area is where 1/2 of the trees on that hole are located. I think we need to rethink that hole or its OB rules. With all of that wood pile why couldn't we trim it up and build an old stack style fence to the left in a strait line so that we have a landing area on the other side of the creek where it gets narrow but still have an OB line to seperate hole 4 and 9s fairways?
I am sure Bill could mark a few trees/branches that you could take out. I don't know about the fence thing? I do know that I will be throwing over 4's tee pad when it really counts.

Are all the tees marked? Flags?

Did you play it after that heavy rain? How was the mud situation on the new holes?

all the tees are marked. As I was told The side walk and beyond is OB. As far as mud. I didn't go out after a heavey rain I had rained aleast to days before but the ground was hard in most all places. There is no bridge going across from tee pad to the hole on # 6. I liked that hole by the way very low celing shot but it does need cleaning up on the sides and a bridge so you dont get muddy trying to cross the low area. This whole course could be really sweet year round (even in the rainy season) if we go out and land scape slopes so that all the water runs to the creeks and away . Once its all sloped then Derby can throw its grass seed down like they have been doing and it would be dry all but the days its raining .

Buffalo Wild Wings only a few blocks away. Who is down for wings and beers?

Predictions on the hot singles round if there is not 100000MPH wind?

-7 or -8 with a bonus or 2.

Glad to hear the enthusiasm. Looks like it will be a good showing.

I received course maps w/ distances from Bill for both Derby & Colwich. PM me your email address and I can send them to any of you who would like them.

As far as Derby goes. I will try to get out there early to look it over, but no garauntees. Is the hole with the 100' tall woodpile playable at all? Seems like there is always a way. On the OB, it may change once I look at the course. But this is what sounds appropriate and simple enough...

*All water in pond, creek, or connected to creek is OB. Across all water is safe. In the future, some holes that do not cross the creek may play across the creek as OB.
*All sidewalk OB. Across all sidewalk OB.
*All roads OB. Across all roads OB. Some situations may be unclear. If the disc is touching grass and the grass is not clearly isolated in the middle of the road, the disc is safe.
*Barbed wire fence and across OB. *** SPECIAL RULE ***. Take 2 meters relief from the barbed wire fence.
*Yards on hole 15 are OB. The line is a mow line and is visible from the tee.
*On hole 17, there is a metal fence on a yard. The extension of this fence marks the OB, because unlike hole 15, this grass is not distinguishable. Not exactly a clear OB, but less than .001% of shots would be thrown far enough and wrong enough to end up here. Just rememeber that across the pond is not OB unless in the yard. That may not sound right, but think about the lefty playing this hole.

NOTE: The road is obviously NOT OB for holes 17 & 18.

sure play the wood pile hole as a skill shot dog leg. Tee off to the left trying to leave your self in a good spot for your next shot. if every one plays it that way then every ones card will have the extra shot or two in thier final score. No big deal. If some one tryes to throw over but misses and has to clime the wood pile to get thier disc they take a penalty drop from along side on the left. that will discorage people from trying.

League is at Derby tonight.

I'll try to get there early to scope it out. In addition to what was mentioned above...

*Hole 9 has a mando.
*On the holes that do not cross creeks, shots that land across the creek are intended to be OB. I'm thinking this would be for holes 9 & 10, but don't have a map in front of me. I'm not sure these holes are cleared enough for this yet, but I will look them over to see.

See ya in Derby. We'll try to start close to 6pm.

I personaly dont think hole 9 is ready to have the OB rule in effect yet. Its not cleared enough for a safe lay up to stay on the right side of the creek. Throwing a big anni does work and I have done it but it is going to be a luck shot (it was for me) for most AMs because of the trees and the creak. I think for now we should play both sides of the creek safe. as far as the wood pile hole(I think thats #7) I hope we play it from the tees and call it a mando dog leg. I think it would add a super difficulty eliment to the game for tonight.
