Mike and I got the pins moved last night. Odd numbered holes are in the long position.

Scott Parker and I moved all 18 baskets today. We put the tone poles back in and lubed all the locks. All in 109 degree heat.

Thanks for all the hard work guys. I played this morning at 730 so I could beat the heat. I didn't realize odds were going back to long, but either way I had a good time.

Pins are now set all long, come get some. Dew Daw lingers in the not to distant future. The new sidewalk between baskets 3&9 should be OB. (on or across both holes) IMO. Anyone else wanna pipe up??

Yes, should be. Been trying to get up to date maps for years, but with any other possible course changes to hole 12 (longer tee a cool idea, but not really needed in my opinion), we'll have to make sure everyone understands the course OB. Nobody agreed with the landscaped area being OB on hole 10 by the police parking, though it has been OB on the map for years. Heard people are playing it safe. Flagged it for the Round Up and it looks like the flags are still there. I don't think they look good. OB on 12 has always been hard for people to understand. The other option is to make the sidewalks and everything between them OB and perhaps adding a DZ farther up. Would be a ton of shots taking penalties if that was the case.

I think everything between the sidewalks on 12 is a good idea. With a drop zone, like 18 @ Oak, except use the side walk for the DZ. Moving the long tee pad back, with the obs, makes it a"risk/reward"hole. then the tree being gone doesn't matter as much.

In theory, a risk-reward hole. I'm curious to see how it would play. If it isn't more than 250' to clear, I can't see anyone laying up. Which really just punishes the shorter players? There are enough trees where accuracy is important though. Even longer, I don't know that the hole will play like a par 4. There will be a lot of bad kicks going OB for 4 or 5, but a good percentage of the safe drives will get 3. How tough is it to get 3 from a lay-up? My guess is almost as tough as playing from the short tee. So the players who can get across probably won't opt to lay up. So risk-reward, yes, but strategy comes from 2 equally balanced options. Have to try it out from the proposed tee location. I don't think the current long tee is a bad hole. Sounds like we could keep it and add another longer tee.
