ACDGC 2014 Annual Meeting is just two weeks away!
1 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 11th.
Water Center at Herman Hill Park, Broadway and Pawnee.

The annual meeting is held to accept the financial report for the prior year, approve the prior year's actions of the board of directors, elect a new board of directors and discuss other item of business.

Participation is critical to the club as we must have at least 20% of the membership vote (either in person or by proxy) to be considered official according to club by-laws.

A list of the candidates will be presented after Jan 4th, via this forum, the website, email and handouts at the clubs weekly mini-tournament.

There is still time for interested members who would like to serve on the board to submit candidate bio-sheets and be included on the ballot.

I am very pleased to announce the candidates for the Air Capital Disc Golf Club 2014 board of directors. That being said, I am also a bit saddened to have to include with that the formal announcement that two of the current, long serving, board members have asked to step down from their post due to increasing demands on their time from other important interest and obligations.

Current President Michael Schoenhofer and Vice President Bill Paulson will not seek another term in 2014. Both of these good men have played disc golf and been actively supporting, participating and volunteering in countless ways with the club for many, many, years. I hope you will join us at our Annual Meeting at the Water Center in Herman Hill Park, Saturday, January 11, 2014 as the club and board members honor their service and dedication to the sport we all enjoy so much.

We open the Water Center Meeting Room at 12 noon and will provide the traditional fried chicken meal for as long as it lasts (rsvp if possible). The meeting will start at 1 p.m. with the annual reports followed by the election of officers for 2014 and an agenda which includes a look ahead to 2014 and a look back on the years of service from Mike and Bill. It’s a meeting I don’t think you will want to miss.

I am pleased to say we have a full slate of candidates ready to step up and serve on the board in 2014. You will probably be familiar with the five returning officers. You may or may not know the other two. They are relatively new members but are well qualified and enthusiastic to serve on the board and move the club ahead on meeting some lofty goals.

I will post/send out another communication tonight or so to better acquaint you with Ty and Doug and provide links where you can access all the candidates required bio sheets that were filled out for nomination to the 2014 ACDGC board.

Remember, our by-laws require that we have at least 20% of current members participate in person or via proxy ballot in order to conduct the election of officers. It is vitally important that you find a way to participate. Proxy ballots are available online https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wxfyvuhsyumg3rs/Km7KKxbcy4 or you can get one on request from any current board member. Scanned copies can be returned via email or delivered in person to a current officer or give original to any attending member to deliver at the annual meeting.

Only current 2013-14 members are eligible to vote. But, the meeting is open for all to attend. RSVP to [email protected] by 1/09/14 if at all possible.

Join us at Herman Hill for Doubles on the Blue tees. We also have our annual meeting today, at the Water Center meeting room.
We've got chicken and sides as long as it lasts, starting at noon. Followed by meeting/election then out to the course!

Thank you to everyone who showed up at the Annual Meeting of the ACDGC on Saturday!

The new slate of officers was approved and we had a chance to show our appreciation for the contributions Mike Schoenhofer and Bill Paulson have made over many years in support of disc golf and the ACDGC.

We also took the first step in establishing a vision and plan for the future role of ACDGC in improving the opportunities to enjoy and share with others this rapidly growing sport.

That step was to set a date for an very important meeting for anyone with ideas to share or an interest in the goals the ACDGC sets for the coming year and the next 5 years.

The meeting will be Saturday, Feb. 8th, at noon, At the Water Center. You will be hearing much more about this before then, but mark your calendar now and plan to be there.

I look forward to the year ahead as we move rapidly forward to complete projects started in 2013 and get new ones underway for completion (hopefully) within this year.
