Re: Tuesday League Results
Man! That is one huge Fing ACE fund!
How can you capitalize on it?
How about this.
1 weekend day of the month. Saturday ?? of August for example. League starts at 2:00. Playing Thomas Park (or any of the other courses). Entry fee is $10, but you are only playing the normal $5 league. Before the league starts, you draw a card. The number/face on the card is equivalent to the hole the entire Ace fund is avaliable on. You ring up that hole, you take home all the cash. All other holes, normal Ace fund rules apply. If no Aces are hit, the extra $5 goes to the current Ace fund.
Now, in order to collect the entire Ace fund you will need to be a club member.
Who wouldn't drive to Salina for a chance to ring up a $1??? ace? You get there and hole 1 is drawn. Good luck hitting that stupid thing. Now you take all the extra $5 bones and start a new monthly Ace fund.
20 people show up and nobody aces. Now you have $100 bones in the fund. The next month you do it again. For our purposes the same 20 people play again. Now you have $200 in the monthly ace fund.
Look at the potential for your club. You must be a club member to collect the entire fund. Who wouldn't take their chances. Think about how many people would show up at Salina North Side. All baskets in the short locations.
More members equals more money for you club. More money for your club means more money to spend on your courses.
Just and idea.

Re: Tuesday League Results
We started making people pay $10 to join the club and put a $300 cap on the ace fund so outsiders wouldn't come steal our money. The $1022 was paid $1 at a time by all of us who play league every week.
League cost $5. One for ace, one for club, and three for payout. So, every $1 we take for the ace fund we are putting $1 in the bank. I can start posting the bank statements if people would like to see them. I know we have a descent amount of money in the bank.

Re: Tuesday League Results
You gotta admit, those are some interesting ideas. It would get your club more members and grow your ace fund even more at the same time.
Re: Tuesday League Results
I gotta admit, Austin has some good points here.
1. Ace fund is completely separate from the money we earn for the club.
2. Ace fund is capped at $300 so we don't drain the entire fund. Has been that way for years.
3. $10 membership fee is intended protect the ace fund from out-of-towners and reward local players who build-up the fund.
4. Salina club has a lot of money. The problem is finding people to help trim trees, pour tee pads, etc.
