Good news: The Pratt City Commission approved our request for use of Lemon Park + Sixth Street Park for our 2009 Ice Bowl, which is scheduled for February 28, 2009. They also approved installation of anchors, which the Pratt Disc Golf Club has already purchased. The club will need to do all of the installation work over the coming weekends before the ground gets too hard.

We plan to use the same layout that we used 2 years ago: 11 holes in Lemon Park, and 7 holes in Sixth Street Park (these are two adjacent parks). I remember that Disc Golf Mom and Tom Vierthaler played that layout - they can tell ya all about it. It's based on the original 11-hole Mathe/Smitty/Castleberry Lemon Park temp course layout.

We'll end up with a total of 18 new anchors in the 2 parks, and once a year we'll haul the 18 Mach V baskets from May Dennis for the special event. Tee pads will just be flagged each year.

Unfortunately, this will most likely never be a permanent year-round course. We can only use the layout for the icebowl tourney, and it can only be in the ground for 2 days. Both parks are multi-use and both get a *lot* of use in the warm months. Both parks are heavily wooded.

We plan to make this a low-cost event. The Pratt Christian Food Bank will be the beneficiary. We plan to do mullies for canned goods. We will also be selling mullies (cash goes to Food Bank).

We plan to work on anchor installation on Sundays in November 2008 instead of playing league those days -- until the 18 anchors are completed. If you can give a hand with digging a hole, moving rock or cement, send me a PM or call me at 62O 77O 9251.

If you play this course, PRAY FOR ICE!!! There are some serious water hazards.
