Pin Placements at Herman Hill
The pins are going to be moved soon. Going to even short, odd holes long. This will bring into play the new 18 short, keep new 7 out of the construction, and it's mostly the opposite of the way the course was set up before the Doo Dah.
We need some course records for the long pins before they get moved. They won't be back for a while. Red got a good record set, while blue only 51. What about short and long tees though? With only one singles club night per tee configuration, shouldn't we include non-league play for course record purposes?
Let's get together this Sunday and play one round long tees and one round short. $5 per round + some skins? Long pins one last time. We'll move them afterwards.

Why the heck are they not going to be moved back FOR A WHILE. This is what I hear people complain about all the time, we don't move are pin placements around enough. I think that the club needs to desinate a few people to move and have a schedule when to move the pin placements. It doesn't need to be Rocket Science though. I think if we could get it to where we play shorts 1 month and the next month have them set up long. We could even mix it up and have some long and some short. I'd be willing to help out with this, I think you would be a good candidate too Mikey.
I'm not griping, I just wanted to shoot you this idea to hopefully eliminate
some of the players complaints. Besides this would be good for our golf too.
Let me know if I can give you a hand moving them around Mikey.

No can do.
Marcus decided to move the pins today. He moved them all to the right places (even holes short).
I played the long tees and the short tees in the same round. I shot 5 birdies on the long and still shot 2 over.
On the short, I shot 9 birdies on the first 10 holes!! I never shoot the front nine well. The only hole I missed was hole 7. I bogeyed it after running for a 50' bird. By the 10th hole it was 9pm and getting dark. I only made one more birdie and finished -9.
Should I log this as a course record? I was playing with my dad, but I was throwing a drive on the long tees first on every hole, so it probably should not count.

Pins will be moved to all short sometime following league on 08/15/06.
The ace fund is already getting back up there. I'm almost certain it will get hit at least once before the pins are moved again.
Come establish a course record please. While only a handful of players have shot under par when this course is maxed out, doulbe digits on the shortest config. is very doable.

I'm gonna do some work out at Herman Hill after I get off work. Anyone want to meet up there around 4pm? I know the ace race is going on in Winfield, but if you are not going...
Going to repour a couple of holes including one new one. Put a sign back into the ground. Shouldn't take but maybe an hour if I can get somebody to help. Right now I don't know of anyone who can.
If your not doing anything else... I might need a level, wheelbarrow, water bucket, etc. Thanks, Mike

Replaced sleeve 15 long due to the concrete being busted of the sleeve. It is now 10' longer, so its not an automatic bird if you hit the tree in front.
Hole 4 has a new location, longer and to the right of the old long. This location kicks arse. No more telephone pole on this hole in a little while. Guy wire is already down. I can see people taking both different routes (including roller) on the drive and the upshot. Duece is possible, but 4 is much more likely.
7's sign is back in the ground.
My dad helped me out with this. Dad's are pretty expert help. We got it done in just over 3 hours. Didn't get to play that beautiful evening, but it was worth it.
