I agree 100% with this statement! Where is everyone at?? I play league every week I'm in town, if you have a problem with the way things are run, let us know...we'll fix it..Nate and I have busted our butts to make Emporia the place to be as far as golf goes..nastyNate wrote:gotta say thanks to the Emporia crew for such support of the club.
I hear all kinds of complaints, no offers for help. Tons of casual golf
but no one shoes up for league. I am getting burnt out. What's up?
I don' t know what goes down in E-town. I may not even have a voice. Here are some of my observations.
-Does doubles draw better then singles. I think most of the E-towners know who is going to win when Eric is in town, so they probably don't play.
-Would you be better off with only one league night a week. If you have a small core of golfers and they have to play one night or the other, they may have to pick between the two.
-Is league any fun? If so, good keep doing what you are doing and those who miss are missing out. If not, do something different. Maybe then more people will come out and play and be active.
I know that we only have one league night in Winfield, and we average 10 to 12 players.
I don't know what goes down. I don't know what league is like. Just wanted to give some ideas.

Sorry to hear about that. Perhaps the reason for some is financial, though.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it cost $5 to play league there? Perhaps some of the people that usually play can't spare that.
Is money required to play? If so, maybe you should consider offering a choice. Perhaps only charge people on one of the league nights or allow them to play casually, without eligibility for payout or ace fund.
On a personal note, I can't believe so many people are giving up the chance to play golf with the Emporians. There's some very fine golfers there.
