OK this entire "give stroke" think is out of hand. A pool/ B pool thing will not work either. We have more B then A poolers.

Here is what I say.

A Pool: This person gets no strokes, and if their partner comes with strokes they don't get them either.

B Pool: This person comes with no strokes, and if their partner comes with strokes they get half of them.

C Pool: This person comes with 2 strokes, and if their partner comes with strokes they get both players strokes.

D Pool: This person gets 4 strokes, and if their partner comes with strokes they get both players strokes.

As people get better they can be bumped up a pool.

A Pool-
Smitty

B Pool
Harv
Shan
Stun
Rich
Burley

C Pool
Samson
Chris Tyler
Bullfrog
Josh Case
Mike D
Curtis
Banger Bob
Young Bud

D Pool
Andy T
Bill Buton
Scooter
Chuck

So:

Smitty and all listed 0 strokes
Shan and a C pooler 1 stroke
Shan and a D pooler 2 strokes
Chris Tyler and Banger Bob 4 Strokes
Chris Tyler and Scooter 6 Strokes

Sound complicated! :P

Where does the can of corn fit into all of this?

edit: that was a dumb question.
#5442 would probably say it fits in the corn-hole.

Just trying to add to the longest thread on the forum. Maybe some day it will catch up with "How do I throw my MRV?"

Is it complicated? We would just post the pools and the players in each pool.

We had a little blow-up last night at league. A pools and B pools was an idea, we just have twice as many b poolers. We also didn't have any AA teams last night. I also only heard a couple of complaints.

Longest thread on the forum? Sweeeet!

The only part that sounds kinda funny is that AA team would be the same as an AD team. Is the team assignment random? Cherry St. vs. Grove would be pretty different in terms of results?

AA would just be luck!

It would be Random draw doubles. I would rather get strokes at Cherry then the grove for sure. The grove you can make a bad shot and still get the same score as a good shot. Cherry if you make a bad drive you just lost a stroke to the field.

I suppose it could be worth a shot, better than ranking all players for sure.

Some people will never be happy, there'll always be somebody complaining. Some just complain louder than others.

First off: I agree with Chris (and NOT just to kiss his ass in hopes of getting a ride in his GTO)
"Some people will never be happy".

Ok: I had to work late yesterday and couldn't make it to league, so maybe I'm talking out of school. BUT, I thought there was a couple of cardinal rules in disc golf like:
1) have fun
2) NO WHINING

Hey, it's LEAGUE !!!! It's for FUN. It's the guys (and maybe a gal or 2) getting together on hump day to let off a little steam, throw a few discs and have a little fun. That's what it is.

KUDOS to Rich for holding it together and always being there. If someone doesn't like his rules, then the evening is optional.

The results were pretty even.

SNG and I won with -14
3 teams at -13
on down.

No strokes were given out.

Harv and I got teamed up. We split up so that there was no AA team.

The person that made the most noise has played 2 leagues in the last 3 months. I don't know how many practice rounds he has played either. His complaining got Shan fired up.

I really don't think it is that big of a deal. We do a random flip, so you get who you get.

Chris Tyler and I each got $11 (for 8 teams), so it isn't like we are talking huge amount of $$ here.

I just hate losing all the time. A -3 is not to bad compared to the rest of the scores. I just took it to far I guess.
You are not the only way to complain, everyone of us has had a gripe one time or another.

Last night if you got Me, Shan, Rich, Harv, Burley you were probably going to cash. It was just the luck of the flip.

As long as we have fewer pro players then am players, it is never going to work well going A/B.

We had 16 players last night. We only had 5 A poolers. Who would be the next 3 people to fill in the A pool needs?

I think if all the rest of the players played 9 holes, someone different would win each time the played.

I also think that it is pretty easy to fix the problem by giving strokes when you get to the first hole. I have given many groups strokes.

If we had a handicap, we could probably figure out just how many strokes each person needed to be in the running for cash.
