Yeah, it is a little tough to play a/b with 6 a poolers and 10 b poolers...

Now if we could only get 2k back out and Bart back from the great white north more often....

If I remember right, awhile back the A&B pool was brought up and it did not happen because there was to many A poolers and not enough B poolers. Has it been that long since I have played on a regular basis. I think we could do A&B pool and if there is to many in the B pool then the two that would get paired up together then give that team the strokes to even it out, instead of trying to give 4 or 5 teams strokes and if there is to many in the A pool then hmm, hhmmm, hm, hhmmm, well I dont have a suggestion for that. Sorry guys I think I had a Schoen-hopper moment. See ya all when I get back from Missouri, should be more of a regular basis for me.

I think smittys' idea on the page before is a good idea. We have tried that here in wellington and it seemed to work allright. It does get a little complicated at first but it is a good way to be fair. All in all it just comes down to this, people who are not a or b pool players need to realize that they probably arent going to cash unless they get partnered with one. Even then there is no guarantee. Thats why I learned to come to league for the fun and practice, and yes, beer does help to take the sting of losing away.

Yeah, I was just joking about the complication.

It does sound like it would work pretty good. And the part about the grove being par-ish offsetting the need for more strokes on a longer course is true as well.

I forgot how much fun Pecan Grove is. I hope there won't be any campers in the fairways.

There are a few campers out there. None are in the way. We may have to tee a little different on hole 4 or we will be in their front yard. 5 we may have to play a little different also.

Here is what I have for the "new system" so far.

Ace Pool- No strokes and partner gets no strokes.

Smitty

Birdie Pool- No strokes and get 1/2 of partners strokes.

Shan
Rich
Harv
Stun
2K
Burley
Ring
Iqbal
Loyd

Par Pool- 2 Strokes on short courses (Cherry, Mulvane, Oxford, Horizon) 4 Strokes on a longer course (Grove, Quaker, Daniels)

C. Tyler
Curtis
Nate M
Burton
Banger
Bullfrog
Leroy
Mike D
Andy T
Josh C
Chuck
Scooter
Young Bud
Don Z
Carpet Chest
Pee Wee
Samson

I think it seems pretty good. I was thinking it may be too advantageous to the c or par poolers, but after thinking that Bob and I still and an 11 stroke singles handicap that it maybe alright.

If we try it out we can really see how it works.

The stroke idea sounds good but if you would of applied it last week at league the results would of almost been the same. Except Smitty and Chris would of been one stroke behind the leaders

Last week (with new system)
Smitty & Chris -14 (-14)
Shan & I -13 (-15)
Bob & Stun -13 (-15)
Rich & ? -13 (-15)
Chuck & Scooter -5 (-9)
Young Bud & Curtis -3 (-7)

I had my share of complaining in the past, but that was a couple of years ago. I fixed it by going out and practicing. I might not win every time but I try to just have fun and still learn from the better players. I think if two players with less than a year exp. get together then they should get a new partner. Most of the time when strokes are given they are either too much or not enough. I rather give my money to someone who earns it instead of somebody who was given to many stroke in the first place.
Back when I use to get strokes I use to lean on them way to much instead of trying to play the best I could. I usually played worse with strokes then without them.

Well I don't know what happen, but the stroke idea kind of went out the window and Rich just handed out strokes at random like normal.

Smitty and Josh -5
Harv and Bart -5
Burley and Mike D -3 (1)
Bob and Chris T -2 (5)
Stun and Chuck -1
Andy T and Samson -1 (5)
Shan and Bullfrog E
Don Z and Loyd E (5)
Dave and Dal +2

**(strokes given by Rich)**

Results using the strokes I wanted to give.

Smitty and Josh -5
Harv and Bart -5
Bob and Chris Tyler -5
Andy T adn Samson -3
Don Z and Loyd -3
Burley and Mike D -2
Stun and Chuck -1
Shan and Bullfrog E
Dave and Dal +2

Any score that would have changed.

Next week at Cherry and we will see what happens with the strokes/score.

Dave and Dal shot +2. I doubt this will help our aspirations for a new stroke system.

I don't really remember the scores from last night, I know there was a bunch of people for last cash at -9. Did -13 win it?

Next week will be another family cookout at Cherry St! Josh Case's 30th and Bangrr's B-day too! Bring a side dish!
