Wow, there won't be any double digit down scores like at Lakewood, that's for sure. I did enjoy that there is a lot more strategizing playing doubles at Thomas. Hole #17 is a stone cold killa.

Which is a good thing. The back nine will give up a few more birdies, so being under is not impossiable.

I think we are going to need to do something with that hole. Hedge and I shot a +5, 3 of those strokes were taken on hole 17. Maybe we could soften the corner to allow a few more shots to make the turn. Right now you throw 275 down a 10 foot tunnel to a 10 foot landing zone.

That’s the beauty of hole 17! It’s the difference maker! It’s like 17 at Sawgrass. You may be leading by 2 strokes at 15 or 16 but in the back of your mind you know you still have to get past 17. It’s the best ‘pure placement’ hole on the course. You do anything but go straight down the middle and land in the landing zone you’re going to add strokes quickly. We shouldn’t change it at all minus trimming up the alley way. Widen the lane a little and it’s perfect! Just because a hole is hard doesn’t mean it needs fixed.

Oh and I also love the fact that even if you do land perfectly in the landing zone you still don’t have a give me 3. It’s a short upshot but you still have those two tree’s standing there guarding the hole. It’s like they’re saying ‘go for it, I dare you’.

Randy & I/Randy would have finished under par had it not been for 17. Our other bogey came on hole 2. Another evil hole!

I can't believe it, but I have to say that I agree with Hero.

I don't like the idea of naming holes. But, if I did that name would probably fit considering I was dropping F bombs in front of little kids.

MOthrows told me to help name all the holes to annoy you.
Your tirade in front of that little kid was pure poetry.

The F bomb it is. Hole 2 should be called Showtime, cause that's when you find out what kind of a rd you're going to have (also could be called perty, cause it's perty).

We played the first official full 18 at Thomas today. Downtown and Coach shot a -1 down, as did Trent and The Future. The playoff was touch and go, but Downtown sunk a 60 footer to seal the deal on #3. This course really seperates the good players from the wood choppers (I'm definitely Paul Bunyan). I spent the better part of the afternoon watching Downtown pure shot after shot down the middle of the fairway, while my partner and I were trying to figure out how to throw a hook thumb roller out of jail to salvage our 4 and stay on the bogey train. So, -1 down is the official Sunday league record as of now and it'll be interesting to see how much lower it can go. I know there is some more birds to be had out there, but it won't be double digits, for sure. I hope people stick around next weekend to play our mini, so we can get some more people's thoughts on the course.
