7th Annual Glass Blown Open A-Tier April 18-19
Re: 7th Annual Glass Blown Open A-Tier April 18-19
The registration is up $5 from the last two years but this year lunch is included on both days. The open division should be playing for the largest pro purse ever so this event will be better than ever. This event is an A-Tier and follows suit with most other A-Tier entry fees in the country. The player pack includes a Dry-fit shirt again, Gateway putter, and water bottle (not bottle of water) which has a retail value of $40.
We just hit 110 players with around 20 registrations last night. If this keeps up we will fill the event so get signed up before if it too late.
Dynamic Discs will probably lose $1000-$2000 on this event unless a lot of CFR plastic sells or some sponsors come on board. DD isn't trying to break anyone, just trying to build up this event so that it can be a National Tour event before long and bring in all of the top players from around the country instead of 5 of the top 10 which is the case as of right now this year.

Evreybody dies but not everybody lives...
Re: 7th Annual Glass Blown Open A-Tier April 18-19
if you compare the recent attendance trends, the GBO is adding 20-30 players each year while the friz used to be 200+ down to what now? Jeremy runs great events and knows how to treat players right, event at an expense to his business. Comparing a tournament to the friz is not possible because the events are fundamentally different. The GBO is all about the disc golf and the competition. The friz is all about the party and happens to include disc golf. We will always disagree about which is the better event.

There may have been well over 200 there (Friz '08), but only around 170 actually played. I think others were just camping out for free beer

Don't know if there is a place?
Both courses have great signs, with accurate distance. Can an E-towner hook this dude up?

Ring wrote:I wasn't downing your tourny.. Just thought it was a little high. Scooba, Ben Mass, and I use to hit this tourny every year. Since the prices have raised the last 3 years...We skip this 1 every year. As do many other Wichitans I know. I mean look at the Friz....way bigger, more courses, more free stuff, more events, 5 days, 100times funner....Yet way cheaper especially for pros... Just my opinion, Hope the event goes well..Good luck to everyone
This is the most inaccurate post of all time.
3 years ago, it went from a good tourney to an awesome tourney. It became a PDGA A-tier. I don't know why anyone disc golfer in Kansas would skip this event? Great payouts for all divisions, several of the top players in the world will be there.
The Frizzz is in no way bigger. This event will have over 150 people, on 2 courses that are a true test of your disc golf game, most people will get more in their players pack then they would win at the Frizzz, with a payout on top of that, I don't know if GBO will be 100X more fun, but I am sure it will be the most Bad A$$ experience Kansas disc golfers will have this year.
On a side note. I got 2nd at the frizzz last year with who knows how many pros and got around 200. If I get second at the GBO I will be bringing home over 500 most likely plus a chance to win a ton more in the final 9.

If anyone wants arial maps of Jones West or Jones East PM me your email address...I'll have updated distances by Saturday evening....
Nate, I know I posted the distances on the forum but could not find it either. I've got pictures of most of the tee signs, so I'll get the remaining distances added to the maps I've got and hook everyone up.
