Middle School Ace Fund League

Post by Zach Y »

Thursday, August 6, 2009

Today was the 1st ever ace fund league in Emporia!
It was ran by having a $3 buy in and only one throw at every hole.
There were 8 players present and the closest ace ended up hitting the nickel!
Many ace runs were present as this is a beginner friendly course.

Now the pot stands at $24

Doubles as well

Zach/Lupe: 39($16) after 6 playoff holes
Jeff/Tony: 39
Joe/Rusty: 39
Cody/Bruce: 41?
A great shot is when you try it, a good shot is when you don't have the guts to pull it off.

Tonight, after some 'iffy' weather we had six players show up in attempt to hit an ace at the middle school.

We played $1 singles and $3 towards the ace pot.

Rusco: 43 ($5)
Zach: 45
Clay: 47
Lupe: 50 ($1)
Bruce: 51
Hopkins: 54

Lupe won the side bet so he took home $1 from my winnings! I decided that if I won the winner between Lupe and Bruce would get their $1 back!

Clay hit metal on hole six and proved his pole smoking skills on hole 14. Neither we good enough to take home any ace money but good for a little excitement. First star birdie on hole 12.

Ace pot increases to $42. If an ace is hit it will pay 50% so that we don't deplete the ace fund right away. Hopefully we have a huge pot of around $250 for the ace pot before long!

What are you guys going to do, when someone from "out of town" comes in and drains it on their first round? You may want to look into 25% for newbies or have a buy in of ??$$. Right now, all the $$ is from the same core of people. If the fund gets up their, you will have more and more people showing up.

We had 11 players and played $2 doubles. I don't have the scorecards in front of me but there were two teams at 17 under and two at 16 under. No aces were hit. Ace pot increased to $75!

Tonight we only had five show up but maybe the most exciting ace league yet! We actually had an ace! Tyler Schaffer hit his first ace on hole #2 with his trusty FLX Drone. The ace pot was at $90 so Tyler took home $45.

$2 singles:
Rusco: 42 ($8)
Tyler Ast: 43 ($2)
Corey Davis: 44
Clay Houser: 44
Tyler 'First Real Ace" Schaffer: 50 ($45 ace pot!)

$45 left in the ace pot for next week!

I think I might want to do this in Hays, do you guys have a plan for this situation?
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.
