What a weekenDD!

Over a hunDDreDD people at both events, that is nuts. People better start using the pre-registration or they are going to be DDriving home very upset. It really puts us in a binDD trying to finDD a place for more people 15 minutes before the event starts.

Thanks for coming out, anDD see you at the next DD event.

It was a job very well done DD's. The tourney was very professionally run, sorry I had to scoot right after my round and didnt take part in the post-tourney stuff but I was really Pis-sed at myself and had a 90 mile drive home (which I made in just over an hour). Thanks for the great event

Another weekend of Disc Golf in the books. Emporia is one of my favorite places to play fo sure. I didn't take the mic last night during the awards but should have and said this....

"I have played Disc Golf all over the country and there is nobody running tournaments as well as Jeremy Rusco and the Dynamic Discs team. The way DD runs tournaments should be the model for anyone wanting to TD a PDGA event. I'd like to thank my wife Cindy for looping my bag and chair all weekend, Jeremy and his family, the Dynamic Discs staff, Smitty for yet another ring, and all the players for making a fun weekend."

peace,
Tom

Yea.. People are going to have to start pre-reg'ing or go home upset. Makes the setup pre-tourney take a lot longer too.. I wouldn't mind seeing pre-reg required!

Thanks for posting those CT.

Look at some of the body language on that Ring of Fire picture. It is great.

If Em and I don't win the show my your DD's contest, something is wrong.

Now I just want some pics from Bruffs. :D

What an awesome weekenDD! 105 players at the Revenge and had to turn away a local! A few last minute course additions and we were gooDD to go! DDid we actually have near perfect conditions for a Kansas DD event? I'm still blown away by that.

Saturday the rounds were long at Peter Pan but everyone seemed to enjoy the golf and great weather! I was surprised to see how many participated in the distance competition that was sponsored by Skywalker Gymnastics (Don Carter). This was simply a test run to see what kind of participation would take place. For the Glass Blown Open, Skywalkers will be a huge sponsor for the distance competition and hopes to give out $500 or more in cash prizes and about the same in merchandise to the amateurs who participate. He will be adding an accuracy/distance competition as well so there will be something for everyone. We will plan on hosting it in the field between the cemetery and south of west 15 and 16. We will get the PA over there pumping out some techno/trance music to pump everyone up and someone like Smitty or Crispin on the PA to get everyone pumped up! I have a feeling this could be huge! Maybe we can even talk him in to doing a putting competition! With the finals at Bruff's?

After only have 70 signed up Saturday night for the Dynamic Discs Open I didn't think that we would break 100. The record attendance for the DDO was set the first year at 106 players! We broke that this year with 117 after a huge rush of players wanting to sign up Sunday morning! I'd really like to see more players sign up online and don't understand why players aren't. It is the same price to sign up online as it is in person!

A huge thanks to all of those who made the weekend happen and to all of those who helped out. I can't think Smitty and Kindy enough for waking up early and setting up headquarters! It isn't easy to getting up at 6am after a long night. And how about CoolDaddySlickBreeze helping to set up in the morning as well! He followed us to the park both days, set up his camera to capture the set up process, and jumped right in to help get things going! Don't forget to check out http://www.CoolDaddySlickBreeze.com for all the event photos and videos which will be posted shortly! If you like a picture- purchase one! Lets show him some support because he isn't making any money doing this right now on the wages that DD is paying him! It is going to take something like what he is doing to help elevate these tournaments to new levels. If we can keep him coming to all tournaments maybe we can attract a major sponsor for next years events so that everyone can reap the benefits of what he is doing to increase the awareness of our sport.

Clean up was a breeze both nights but especially on Sunday because everyone wanted to head to Bruff's so that we could be entertained by our very own special waiter----SMITTY! Funny stuff! Going out and eating has become a tradition after Emporia tournaments. I think everyone needs to make this part of their weekend for future tournaments! We all go eat, laugh about the tournament and talk about what we can do better next time. Basically it is just a conclusion to a great weekend! The best thing about it.....I don't have to make the couple hour drive home like the Wichita and Hays crew usually have to do:) I will try to post some pictures later from Sunday night at Bruffs! Looks like we will try to do a player party there next year for the Glass Blown Open. Any ideas or suggestions with this?

Thanks again to everyone who made this an awesome weekenDD! If you saw something that you liked, let me know! If you saw something that you didn't like or have a suggestion on how we can make these tournaments better let me know so that we can make some changes in some areas that we have skipped over!

Before I end this I would really like to say thanks to Senor Chris Tyler (SNG) for sponsoring everyone's KDGA fees! That is a huge chunk of change for someone to take care of! Once he gets his winery up and producing some wine I expect everyone to be drinking his wine as a way to say thanks for all the support!
