2010 Glass Blown Open
Re: 2010 Glass Blown Open
Peter Pan is much different then the Jones courses. Peter has many holes that should give up some 2's. It is also much shorter then the Jones courses. It gives you a chance to throw some mid-range off the tee, but not a ton of them. A lot of drive then putt holes.
Re: 2010 Glass Blown Open
actually by length the west Jones course and Peter are relatively close. Peter plays a little tighter (more wooded) and also has several holes that play around the pond. one of Emporia's best holes is #4 at peter. certainly a fun course to play but not overly tough.

Re: 2010 Glass Blown Open
While #4 is a great hole, I don't think it is the best in Emporia.
Hole 2 East
Hole 11 East
Hole 17 Long west
Hole 4 Peter
Hole 18 to 1 west.
Oh, we are up to 199 players. That only leaves 71 spots left until the event is full.
DON"T plan on paying at the Monkey Island Open in a few weeks and getting in. I am pretty sure we will be full by then.

Don't forget about the 5 USDGC spots that are up for grabs! We could have more players represent Kansas at the USDGC this year then ever before. Trust me, it is one of those Disc Golf things you need to try and do before you are done.

Thanks for the thoughts on Peter Pan fellas. Smitty, from the looks of your favorite holes, you need to get up to IA and play Pickard if you haven't yet.smitty wrote:While #4 is a great hole, I don't think it is the best in Emporia.

Being a lefty, I still have nightmares about that hole 17 on the west course from '08 when Hemmy threw that friggin' ridiculous helicopter shot for our second shot in the finals (that got us about pin high as I recall). That is a pretty darn eipc hole indeed.

Re: 2010 Glass Blown Open
17 I would call craziest, not best. There isn't enough of a safe gap to throw through down below. Huge over the top righty only fits a small percentage of the field. Then it's random what will happen to your shot if you don't clear the trees. The difference between a 3 and a 6 or 7 could come down to a bad kick off those tree tops. Certainly dramitic. Waiting for your turn in the execution line....
I like 2 east, 6 east, 8 east, 12 east, 17 east, 11?West, 18 West.

You don't have to go over the top. You can throw off to the right and passed the parking lot, over the water, and then putt. You are planning on taking a 4 going that way for sure.Schoen-hopper wrote:17 I would call craziest, not best. There isn't enough of a safe gap to throw through down below. I do agree that it would be nice to have a gap to hit in the front of the trees that lead to the island. The drive off the tee is one of the scariest in Kansas. I don't care if you are right or left handed.
I think if I was a left, I may roll it off the tee . Probably get me far enough down to try a thumber over the top.

Got word from Rusco today. If you planned on playing a A pool, and have not signed up, you may be out of luck. We are starting an A pool waitlist.

Re: 2010 Glass Blown Open
Let me clarify about the A Pool-
There may be some spots available, but online registration has been closed. It is an attempt to keep from over filling (90) people in the A-Pool.
There are some names that need to be added also. Three of the names most people will know Rico, Cale, and Josh Anthon.
We still have plenty of room in all the Am divisions. Don't delay and get signed up ASAP.

I signed up Wednesday but my name is not on the list. Have I been rejected?
