There ended up being 7 total. Randy and I hit an ace on the same hole on the same card.

7 could be the all time Kansas record for aces at a single tourney.

.

This tournament had it all.

Unreal play, unreal scores, unreal comebacks.

It was the most beautiful weather, beautiful people, beautiful time I could have imagined.

What I'll remember most about my first Rock however, is:

How I was re-reminded of how precious each moment and each person is...

so hickman missed one putt inside 40 on his way to a 10 down final round and an impressive win. he looked like he was at the practice basket. it seemed like he couldn't be stopped. so what's that tell you about austin's 14 down?
i saw some friggin good golf this weekend. including my second ever "stackers." austin, towards the end of the round of his life throws one that will be within 10ft, ticks a branch and sticks in the bucket. we give him high fives and cash fives and shake our heads about his mind-boggling round. then downtown, in the midst of a battle round (doubled a few holes back) steps up, horks his rhyno under the picnic table skipping off the concrete 40+ into the heart of the bucket. now we go ape shizzle and runruh and i gotta dig up some quarters to pay the man. randy went 1,2,2 before getting the box from austin and i had to lay down a 4 bagger before i could have a shot at honors. oh, and that was 14 down with a bogey. if you are counting, that's not very many pars.

that's how i busted my ROCK cherry. if you weren't there, why not? what a great place for a course. and mace and the crew did an awesome job under some extraordinary pressures.

note to self: when driving drunk, use someone else's disc. i will reward you for my first run surge somewhere deep and left of 1's bucket. (probably very deep and very left) i know horning and possibly bo had some out there too.

oh yeah, and i believe horning, while seated, hit 3 straight 40footers for some cash monies. and then popped a 35 foot spike hizer behind the back putt just to rub it in. well that and to collect some more monies.

put it on your calender.
Throw Millennium.

The Swede said it. Just a note, Ring shot a 47 the final round, not a 478. And I thought Ron Unruh shot a 48 but it shows 56.

Was Bendan's 44 a -10 or -13? Did you play 18 holes the final round?

Which hole was that which was "stacked"?

First two rounds Par was 57, 19 holes. Last round Par was 54, 18 holes.

The alleged "stackers" were on hole 16A from the first two round layout. You tee'd off along the canal, and it was about a 225 RHBH hyzer through a few trees. Don't get me wrong, two aces on the same card same hole is sweet!!! In my book though, to be true stackers, they have to be back to back shots, not with someone teeing off in between.

If they are stacked, then they're stacked.

I wonder what happens more often: stackers, or someone hitting back to back aces?

Plugged in the numbers from the first three rounds to see what Austin's -14 would be rated. The numbers from the fourth round would throw things off because it was a different course with fewer holes. See results below...

Wow!

If you figure just round 2, and not 3 rounds, does that 1087 go up or down?

I suppose it would be hard to argue that one.

Doesn't change at all. I looked at that already. With 2 rounds the SSA goes down a little and the individual ratings change but not the -14.
