It's almost here. Sorry to ruin the ending but I know the results, I'm sure of it.

It's looking painful out there. Tim Scanlon, who's a solid golfer took a 19 on hole 5. Robbie Bratten gets an eagle 3 on hole 12 then takes a 15 on the next hole.

Stroke and distance penalties have definitely been a game changer.

Stoke & distance? As like in ball golf: if you go OB, you must replay from the previous lie AND add a penalty stroke?

The BUNCR rule may have been too lenient on bad throws, but with narrow fairways, this seems much too punitive. Those bad kicks get extra punished. It's pretty crazy when player who normally finish a couple of throws away from each other are seperated by 20+ strokes.

It just doesn't make sense or look good to go from one extreme to the other. What is wrong with the normal OB rules? They make the most sense to me. A person throwing their shot directly over the OB should have a longer shot than someone who just kicks OB at the end of the shot.

Also, ball golf distinguishes between hazards & out of bounds. Water and other hazards do not require stroke & distance penalties.

I can't believe that as of the first two rounds, only 3 people rated under 1000 are under par and they are all part of the Tulsa trio (A. Hunt, P. Dorries, and J. Crowl).

Also, I think it'd be cool to see the founder of Dynamic Discs cash.

Well people were complaining that the Buncr rule didn't really punish bad shots. Normal OB can still be semi rewarding when the pins are placed so close to the OB lines. Throw a drive on a par 4, burn one past the bucket OB, have a 30ft putt for a Par. Or a par 3, burn your drive deep OB, have a Par putt coming back.

Notice how the names at the top of the leader board aren't really all that different than normal.
