Thanks a ton to my HyzerNaut crew, my good woman, and Kingpin for kicking in CTPs and doing whatever it takes to run a tourney. I played like poo and was nervous running the tourney but it looked like folks had a pretty good time. The formats seemed to make a pretty level playing field for teams with very different team dynamics. Next year we will go back to 4 Tough shot holes in the morning round and none in the afternoon. That should lessen the backups we saw 2nd round.
You know I want to hear your feedback.

Re: 1880 DUBS @ Camp Hawk *OCT 20th*
I don't think the back-ups were a huge deal...the wait was minimal at most. What holes would you add as tough shot? 2 and 10?
If you are searching for an extra switch bonus hole, 12 right would be perfect.

Results for the Fantasy League need to be analyzed by an expert. My hunch is that Kindy-Kane got himself 2 wins this weekend by betting on himself!!
Contestant: 1880 first pick place, second pick place and One7 pick
Kindy: 1, 10 and 4 - took the Mindys and Glaziers (counting on the home course advantage I reckon)
Mel: 6, 22 and 1 - took the Brass and the Bambinos (because it sounded good?)
Mace: 6, 18 and 3 - went with Truth and Ginger (because he's into whole foods and pluralistic being?)
Swede: 2, 12 and 7 - took the Glutes and the Lawmen (fetish??)
Jason: 14, 15 and 4 - went with Riners and Rounders (well if my wife went with the B's...)
Smitty: 19, 20 and 2 - took the O.G.'s and the Brawlers (because he was looking for a fight)
In case anybody wondered, the guy who got me playing disc golf tourneys 4 or 5 years ago got his first ever win on Saturday. The guy that always pitches in to help make a tourney run better. The guy that plays out of division to make the numbers come out right. The guy who hasn't seen a cash return ever and goes a while without bringing any plastic home. That guy got his first taste of victory and cash payout @ 1880 Dubs. That just might be enough motivation for another year of K-Ratings. Do me a favor and ask my man Kindy about his shot on 7.

A big thank you to Swede, the Hyzernaut Crew, the sponsors, and everybody involved in making this tourney and the Camp Hawk course one of the best around. I can't even fathom how much work and time Brandon had to put into the K-ratings, promotion, scheduling and producing this event. Smitty and Kindy played like a well oiled machine and it was a privilege to get to play with them in the afternoon. Also a big thank you to Ron for doing more than his share to help us secure our place in the standings. I loved how the format seemed to level the playing field. The whole day was fun, fun, fun. Already looking forward to next year.
No I did not pick up my disc but can get it at the Roundup if you still have one.

Re: 1880 DUBS @ Camp Hawk *OCT 20th*
Yeah, that was one hell of a good tourney. I had a blast. Very creative format. I thought the format selections were well balanced and well suited to the holes they were used on. I figured the more well balanced teams would have a big edge again this year. But the proof is in the pudding and it looks like it turned out very fair for everyone. Switch dubs has always been one of my favorite formats. When there isn't a huge disparity in the skill levels for the amateur players, I think it's way more fun than best shot. And the switch bonus added a lot of excitement. We had a star "ace" on our first SB hole and proceeded to get the other hole as well! Curious to see how many of the 34 x 2 x 2 chances resulted in a "1". Tough shot was tough on holes 7 and 19. Easy to have a melt down! More tough shot holes next year might result in more people strangling their partners.
We shot +2 in tough shot, but didn't get the cash as it was listed we did in the previous post. Did the Lawmen and the Truth shoot +1 or +2 in this format? It was written down one way, announced another way, and rewritten the first way. Not worried about it, just thought I was losing my mind a little. As they say: money gone!
I heard it was -1 that one the alt shot. Damn good shooting as these holes weren't easy! Thanks for kicking in the bonus money for these. That adds more fun.
The course work for the most part was really good. Might have trimmed a bit much on 14 and 15, but the place looks really clean. Love the weather this time of year. I say add some holes so more people can enjoy this event. Of course that will mean longer rounds.... We'll just have to sign up early next year!
On the points, I still think there isn't a big problem listing them as they finished, but if it is viewed as more fair, we'll give everyone 20 points apiece for attending.
Once again, well done Brandon! I'm glad you get to see a good result from all your work on the ratings.

--30 "1"s recorded and no actual aces--a little surprising. I think the switch bonus option kept folks from running at aces on those holes.Schoen-hopper wrote:Curious to see how many of the 34 x 2 x 2 chances resulted in a "1".

--Probably the same # of tough shot holes--just played all in the same round.
--I hope I gave it to Spexy. I know I split the $60 into 6 pieces. Hope somebody didn't eat your pie.
--More than a bit much. We definitely weren't consulted on that hack job.
--You are in charge of points. If anybody tells you how to do it, ask if they'd like to figure them.
--Cheers. I think we've got a keeper.

Found 2 Rocs in my car today. I'm guessing they were lost and found @ 1880. Anybody missing one? Also found a Topher(sp?) disc @ the hawk if somebody knows how to get ahold of him.
