also the reason i am wanting to try to keep the course from getting set up so raditcaly long is i have already contacted the local scouts and have their help in working at the park when we set it up. if they come out and we set up a course that reguires them to throw acroos the water and they lose discs they will be disapointed and not want to come back . why cant we think of the kids first and then our selves later. why do disc golfer have to come first when we set up the course . sure so the tees are alittle short in some places. so cant we on league nights take twenty paces back and around a tree and say hey let through fom here.? we know we can do that .. but the kids wont know they can take a drop from a safer spot or a shorter spot.

They do have higher par setting on courses just like ball golf.
Throwing around hazzards will teach a golfer to play a smart golf shot. You do not have to trow a disc 400'-500'. Lay up then trow over.
When the couse is installed there can be 2-3 pin and tee placements. long medium short.

BOOMER SOONER!!
Exactly. You have to make the course challenging enough for players to experience the full progression of skill and ability or it will get boring fast and Wellington will lose out because people will not go out of their way to play a mediocre course. They will to play a championship caliber course though and they will bring money to Wellington while doing so. I think younger players get more excited about the game when they see a pro or advanced player throw a massive bomb shot once in a while. It shows them what is possible if they keep playing and practicing. I also have a used up shoulder and elbow and will never drive over 350 but long challenging courses have improved my driving accuracy and approach game and made me a better overall player.

SO, are we playing Monday or are we not? Are we going paying $10 or are we not? Are we playing a championship caliber course or are we not? You can still have a championship style course and have a long and short tee for each hole, it would be very easy for the city to put a concrete tee pad on the other side of the pond so that people that don't have the distance don't have to throw over the water. I'm in for whatever.
