No doubt. It was the Gamer tournament to end all Gamer tournaments.

Josh Luinstra is playing Rec? Are you kidding me?

For a guy who likes to stir the pot, you are going to have to take some heat for this one. You've been winning intermediate. Maybe its time to move up to advanced, not down to rec.

Yes I sure am.

I am going up there and have never played the course so I have a MAJOR disadvantage because I will be playing the course Blind.

Besides if you check my Ratings....I am a Rec.

Get it right mike I have only won once as an intermediate and that was at the roundup at a course that I am very familiar with.

So I will take heat for this one if I do a good job up there.

Trust me. The way Josh has been playing lately, I'll give him a run for his money down here in the Rec. He's more into beating his balls with rackets, than souring discs. Although, I did see him make a triple car banger the other day.

Started with the Cow Gaurd on Rons truck, Then skipped off of the hood my car, and then smashed into a door of a Grand Prix.

No crap, Josh, you are one Sand bagging son-of-a-gun. At least I've never won rec, and when we played in Abilene, we went 1 and 2 in that division, and you beat me by 20 strokes!!! You'd never played the course before that day had you? I am not really sure.

And then you won Intermediate at Round-up, all though that is kind of a "home course."

I enjoy playing with you, but I believe this is the definition of the word "bagger"

You do know that I can still move up the day of the tourny right. Or the TD can make a desicion to have me move up. But you cant blame me for making a strategic desicion because I havent ever played/seen the course before. Call it sandbagging if you will but chris you could have signed up for novice.

Mike and Chris....you guys can count just about as good as Lizard can spell :!: :!:   Chris you might want to go back and check the Abilene thread to see excactly what I mean.

The Abeliene thread shows that you only won by 19 strokes. It also shows that you would have won intermediate. There are people who belong in the rec division, including new players. You will probably beat most of them by a dozen strokes or so PER ROUND. What reward is there in winning by playing down? Don't be a Ron Klein. You should play intermediate so you can beat this guy.

Honestly, It really doesn't matter much to me, but I think you would be hurting your own chances by not playing at least intermediate, more players and higher payout, (by looking at the registration now) but do what you would like.

Also, I did check the Abilene thread before I had made my post. I rounded the 19 to twenty, to prove my point. Now you can call me Micheal Moore because I am distorting statistics to prove a point!

This is sort of why I think Rec division should have minimal if any payout.

If I were in Josh's position, I would definitely move up, but in his defense, he's not responsible for the changes the PDGA made to the ratings brackets. Under last year's system, he would be required to play INT with an 895 rating.

I would suspect he'll likely be crossing the 900 mark sometime this year anyways so hopefully after a few tournaments, this will be a mute point.

If everyone moved up after they won a division, eventually we would have a gazillion people in the open division and nobody in any of the other divisions. That is why we have rankings that tell us what division to play in. I say if you want to get better do it in practice for free (unless donating alot of entry fees is your thing). If you want to play in a tournament, play to win.
