I am sure everyone gained a new (or several) disc golf memory of a lifetime this weekend. That is what Beloit is about, hanging and playing with new people. The first round is always a blast. Had the privilege of playing with Brandon Tull the first round, the dudes putter was on fire! The BBQ and Swimming Pool are always a blast. I wonder what people think when they see 50 adult strangers in their pool chucking lids, and performing aerial feats that could qualify them for Barnem and Baileys 3rd Ring. Beer Frizzz is always a kick butt time. Like so many other people stated at the awards come back next year and bring someone new.

Huge thanks to the Moshers! Collecting money to give out in the drawings, keeping the water jugs FULL and COLD all weekend, moving baskets, and for having kids that I can dunk in the pool.

Huge thanks to Mace! Getting shirts and custom discs to honor the event. Running the event and doing all the little things that people don't even know about.

Thanks to all of you who made it to Beloit to battle the heat and the course.

Sunday was a great day of Disc Golf for me. The first round playing with 4 of my tourney 5 then in the afternoon battling with all the past champions that were in the field. Then ending regulation play tied with one of the guys that has always been the guy you want to beat. Ron has probably showed me more about disc golf then any one individual going back 13-14 years now. He was the top dog then and is the top of the pecking order now. The vibe during the playoff was kick butt. It has been a long time since I had the honor of playing in front of a gallery, It is a blast and the reason whenever we are having a playoff for any division champion I will always go and watch.

My new Beloit Memories that will be etched into my mind. I will only share my top few.

1) Being able to take Twitch and having him kick some serious butt in his Beloit and Advanced debut. That dang kid was in the hunt for the championship. If you take out his rough third round who know where he would have finished.

2) The Aerial performance at the pool. It was hilarious watching people contort their bodies in ways that grown out of shape men shouldn't be bending, then King Pin nearly pulls off the "Pose".

3) Nearly ringing up the backstop hole in the playoff after Ron had just parked the living crap out of that thing. During the round I had nailed the backstop and squeaked around the corner.

4) After everyone had gone except for T-Rude, The Snodgrasses, Mace, CT, Twitch, and myself. We were sitting on a table and discussing the possibility of a "Boomer" being lit on Saturday night. When Darren "I got busted for firework ordnance a few years ago" Bottom rolls up to say good bye. The discussion then turns to Darren who had a look of guilt on his face. Instead of denying the fact Darren reaches into his pocket and pulls out a nice little "Boomer". To the delight of the crowd Darren lights the fuse and gives that little beauty a fling. KAAAABOOOOOOOOM! As we turn around laughing and enjoying the display T-Rude calmly says with out skipping a beat "Hey, who is this rolling up on us". The look on Darrens face turned from complete delight and happiness to WTF are you kidding me. On of Beloits finest had pulled into the parking lot just as Darrren was light and launching the "Boomer". After a few words Darren was able to sweet talk his way out of another ticket.

Stayed at the park to burn off the Shots...before driving home and got to see the bang go off in person...as Beloits finest arrived! Too Funny! What a ride home! a bit breezy...Congrats to Smitty on some really good play. We finished -31 for the weekend which is pretty close to a new lo score. This is the second playoff I've lost at Beloit (last time was Sandman) and it hopefully won't happen again...Thanks to all those folks who made the festivities possible, including a big thank you to the City of Beloit.

Coach was throwing down some pretty impressive one liners.

"I'm living proof that you can party all night in Beloit and still make money."
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

I would just like to thank everyone that made this one of my greatest disc golf events to date. I have played some good ones in Texas but I have to say that the Kansas golf is great. Everyone out there made my wife and I welcome. Nothing makes the event better than the wife being happy while I am playing golf.

Smitty thanks for the props on my golf game, I really appreciate it. Mace Man, two weeks in around, great tournaments. Cole, great playing on sunday. I have to say there wasnt much of a better bunch of guys to play with on sunday then Cole, Mr. Jeff Vest, and Jason S. I hope I will be able to keep coming back to Beloit every year.

24 pros, now that is awesome! I remember one year beating everyone but McCabe and Smitty and getting jack because their were only 4 pros. Glad to see this event continue to grow.

Were there more than 18 holes this year, or did this tournament play tough? Usually a few more under par 216 scores.

20 holes the last 2 years.

Found this in the archives:
smitty wrote:What are some of the new terms that came up in Beerfrizzz? I want to get these in the books.

Griswald- Catching both the bottle and frizz at the same time.
Searle- 5 Griswalds
Rusco- A Searle plus 3 Griswalds
Clark- 8 Ruscos
Facial- Obviously taking the frizz to the face.
T-Rex- Catching the bottle or frizz with your elbow.
PrePoleulation- Reaching infront of the pipe to catch the frisbee.
Heater- A throw that is moving far to fast.

I know we had several more. I have a plan and need as much as this info as possible.

If you remember any terms from last year, please quote and add them.

Meet at the Shoe needs to be in there.

You just can't have a bad round with Smitty and Ronverse in the field and expect to win. At least not at Beloit. These two seem to bring a little extra git-er-done when the state championship is on the line. They separated themselves from the field and then treated us all to the Ambassador's Duel--5 extra holes of drama. Thanks, gents.

I'm not sure how to explain to folks that haven't Beloited what Beloiting is all about. It is like a family reunion, except you really like your family and want to party with them all weekend. And people you just met are cooler at Beloit. Sure you are going to have a spat or two. Sure someone is going to be laying in the grass crying. But everyone is going to get a little sentimental when it is time to go. Wrongs will be forgiven. Tables will be driven into. People will say goodbye two or three times but keep lingering. You'll be hungover, sunburned, and sleep-deprived but you won't want to let it go. And things get blown up. Yeah, like I said, just like a family reunion.
