Beloit never fails to impress! The weekend was great from the doubles friday, to the cup being sipped from by all present former champs.
This event is so strange in that, you want to play well and get the chance to come back for life and sip from the cup, but you can't wait for your rounds to be over and get back to camp and enjoy all the other things that come with the weekend.
I'd never played beer frisbee, but it was so fun! Nasty Nate and I were a pretty stout team, we only lost once all weekend and that battle was in the semi's of the Championship tourney. Congrats to Rusco and Searle! We gave them all they wanted but finally lost 21-18 in a 20 min marathon match. Searle is sick when it comes to this game, he may only play disc golf as a intermediate player, but the cat has his own wing in the Beer Friz Hall of Fame!!! However he did seem a bit rattled for a round or two after our introduction to "White Lightning"! This character to the Beloit play forgot his clothing and was obviously in a hurry to get somewhere as he was running quite fast through the Friz court
Congrats to Ronvers! The guy just never slows down. A 3rd cup for Ron and you are crazy to think this guy won't another or more! I'll get my hands on that cup one of the days!!
The boys had the time of their lives this weekend! They loved playing one of the top 5 courses in Ks, partying with all of the great people that make up the KDGA, and might have found a calling as improv actors, as the entertained all of us during the intermissions of the Beer Friz World Championships with charades.
I'm already counting down the days until next year. This is the funnest 3 days of the year, and I hope that in 15-20 years I will still be going to the Ks State Championships with my boys and who knows, maybe a 3rd generation of jump-putting Unruh's?

What more could you ask for in one weekend? Man this was off the hook! First of all playing doubles on Friday with the hand eye crew, nasty, and ruder was unbelievable. I saw some great drives and many sickening putts dropped from 60-70-80 and 90 foot! I could not have asked to play with better players all weekend playing on the 2nd card in open for the final 3 rounds :D And to top that off I made the last cash! Beer-friz was outstanding and man I saw some unbelievable snags and unexpected streaking haha! For all of the winners congrats and I know what I need to work on to become a future champ! If you did not make it you definitely missed out!
A great shot is when you try it, a good shot is when you don't have the guts to pull it off.

What they said!

There was so much that went on that its hard to account all of it. Hopefully, next year comes soon enough.

How about that weather? I was worried all week it was gonna be raining on us and it ended up being almost as beautiful as last year.

84 Players? That's big!

Congrats to Ron! I noticed he was the only one to beat par 54, which seems unusual for this tournament. Was there bad weather or did you add some holes?

Did anyone sign up for 2010 KDGA membership this weekend? This was the last chance to receive points for tournaments played prior to Beloit.
84 is correct. I have quite a few new sign ups and will get those later tonight

Quote of the tourney?

"I am a power player"

Or maybe

"5 Griswalds equals a Searle, A Searle and 3 Griswalds equals a Rusco, and 8 Ruscos equals a Clark!"

While looking for that mini I found a giant log someone left behind a willow tree, luckily not with my foot. I thought I was going to throw up.

For the record, we need to figure out how to get this this updated: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=griswald

4) A term used in Beer Frizz when 1 player catches both the Frisbee and bottle at the same time.

A new definition for Griswald is currently under review!...What about when Jason caught both the frisbee and the bottle without using the frisbee to make the catch??? Is it going to be called an "Adkins Diet"?...I need somebody to tell me the sizes for the poles, because i NEED some for the house and lake gatherings......and I am a power player!!

They are 2 inch diameter and about 6 feet tall.

Another quote came from the 2 hole championships after the state championships.

Smitty "We will tee in order of our head sizes, Austin you are first."
Austin "Funny! I will crush you."

Ruder I think I saw the same thing as you did. Was it on hole 14 behind that first willow that hangs over the road? And yes it wasn't pleasant. The greatest quote in my opinion was "I am a power player"

I might have a few more which are worthy of publishing, but I'm still holding out for hush money...What a great time....Did I mention how nice the 50 degree air was in the Younger trailer...Thanks again to all who made this such a fine weekend.

Yeah, Horning said he saw a dude drop his pants over by that tree in the morning. I guess the bathrooms were full. He didn't know who the guy was though.
