Just a quick update before the tourney. The first 18 holes for the pros and advanced (and the only 18 holes for the ams) will be basically the same course as last year. Remember that the pros and advanced tee off at 9 am. The ams and other divisions tee off at 11 am and only play 18 holes. The reason for this was to accomadate the local players that might show up and to hold more players should this fill up since there are only 9 baskets. It also allows some of those families less time at the course. The serious players should play the 9 am time slot. But I digress; the first 18 holes are 18 different tee shots. It is not a difficult course; last year the two best pro doubles partners shot 17 and 16 under. The real fun will come in the afternoon when 9 new tees will be used. Holes 1 through 3 all shoot across the water. There is plenty of length in the afternoon as the course plays in reverse. And because it is worse shot for 9 holes and then alternating shot for the same 9 holes; there won't be any 17 or 16 under. Many of these holes just aren't reachable in one shot. Plus they will play along OB lines; the fence on the east, the lake, the parking lot. If you like doubles, grab a partner and show up at McLaughlin Park In Valley Center on Saturday. Call me with questions at 316-650-9759. The flags are out there but no lines painted or maps currently available. The yellow is mostly the instaled course with a couple of exceptions. The red flags are the second 9 and the blue is the afternoon. The flag will be to your right when you tee off. Unfortuately, when I showed up to put these in, there were close to 200 other flags in the ground for other purposes so they may be hard to pick out. I should be at the course at 8 on Sat. Hope to see you there.

The answer is no. You would think I would be upset but instead I am grateful. I have so much to do, I needed the day to get some work done. I did however leave the flags in place, so if anybody wants to go play something different than the norm, go on out. There are yellow and red flags for the normal progression and blue for playing in reverse. They will be pulled sometime before next weekend. Probably on Monday. Have fun. Respect other park useds and on blue, there are a lot of blind shots so take a spotter.
